Yes, Vejer has several cultural attractions and monuments:

  • The Cultural Center (Casa de la Cultura) – Located in the old building that housed the Marquis of Tamarón Palace, near the Church, it is one of the Cultural Centers of the town.
  • Castle (Castillo) – It dates from the X and XI centuries, time of Ab-al-Rahman I and his successors. It is placed on the highest point, which is the oldest inhabited area of Vejer.
  • Windmills – They are the most characteristic shape of Vejer
  • Plaza de España – It has its origins in the XVI century. During the XVI and XVII centuries, it was a place to celebrate the bullfights organized by the noblemen and horse riders of Vejer. In 1957, a fountain was built in the middle of the square, made of tiles from Seville.
  • Divino Salvador Parish Church – Built on an ancient mosque, it’s a basilical floor church with a rectangular apse and is composed by three naves. Its architecture has two parts clearly different corresponding to two construction stages: the gothic header (a “mudejar” from the XIV century and with a gothic expansion from the end of the XV century and the beginning of the XVI). In the lateral naves there are three chapels.
